Analysis of Organismal Form

An introduction to morphometrics, delivered as a Web-based course

9 November – 18 December 2009

Instructor: Chris Klingenberg

The course is part of the final year of various undergraduate degree programmes in the life sciences. The course is delivered via the Web to make it accessible to participants from outside of Manchester.

The course provides an introduction to morphometrics

The course is equivalent to 18 lectures, some exercises for practicing the techniques on actual data, and discussion among participants via the course bulletin board. The practical component (first introduced in 2007) has been established as an integral component of the course. There will be examples of data analyses -- the course will provide the data sets used and directions on how to perform the analyses using the MorphoJ software (participants can use other software if they prefer).

For more detailed information on the course content, click here.

The fee for the course is GBP 190.00 for external participants (those not enrolled in a course of study at the University of Manchester). Payment of fees is online, via credit or debit card only.

The deadline for pre-registration for this year's course has passed. Unfortunately, we cannot accept participants without pre-registration and there is no possibility for making exceptions. It is expected that there will be another course next year.

During September, further instructions on how to register with the University of Manchester's central system and on how to pay the fees will be provided only to those who have pre-registered. Full registration need to be completed and payment of fees need to be made before the beginning of the course; participants will recive detailed information after pre-registration.

The course itself will then start on 9 November 2009.
